On the way to have my car dash replaced (factory authorized modification), I popped in a gospel CD (“Tennessee” Ernie Ford).
As usual, I ran into the usual early morning traffic, and I noticed how distracting road noise can be, even when music is playing in a vehicle.
I got to thinking about distractions that keep us from taking time to pursue our spiritual interests.
Just then a song came on whose lyrics grabbed me (in light of this weekend’s headlines):
Ere you left your room this morning,
Did you think to pray?
In the name of Christ, our Savior,
Did you sue for loving favor
As a shield today?
Did you think to pray?
In the name of Christ, our Savior,
Did you sue for loving favor
As a shield today?

Seems like this would be a good idea in times like these.
