How big is your God?

Too often as we read of people in scripture we forget that they were just ordinary people like you and me. We tend to elevate them spiritually to a different level than we walk on.

I have just finished reading about two modern men who had a special relationship with God. It has caused me to stop and think. Why did/does God seem so involved in their every day trials and why does He seem to see them through each and every situation with such power and timing?

I seem so often to be wallowing in the mud of life and God seems to be so far away!

I have just read Psalms 18. David wrote; “He rescued me, because He delighted in me. The Lord has rewarded me according to my righteousness; Accordinng to the cleanness of my hands He has recompensed me.”

I began to wonder. Humility vs pride? No facts. Sometimes we seem to a elevate humility into a fault. Many worship Humility to the point we can’t see our own faith and obedience. David recognized that God responds to a pure heart and obedience.

It seems that the common trait that these great servants of God shared both in Biblical times and modern is a determination to know God by a daily walk. They determined to fellowship with God and really know him.

Today most of us are too focused on career, family, and leisure pursuits to spend any quality time with God.

We are too reluctant to give up something we really enjoy to get the awesome experience of walking with God. We spend just enough time with God to satisfy our own requirements and miss out on the really special powerful relationship that God offers?

It seem the main difference between the great saints and us is our relationship and daily walk with God. David couldn’t have written Psalms 18 if he didn’t have a strong daily walk with God.

Why are we settling on a weak God? The only weak link is us.
As for me and my house, we will serve The Lord. Joshua 24:15
