With all of the garbage coming out in the Supreme Court, the media and our national leaders, perhaps it is time for the Christians to take a self check.
We are, it appears, facing troubling times and the best thing a Christian can do is to check their relationship with God. Do we really love God or are we paying lip service? How does our love for God show in our daily lives?
When trouble comes, it is too late to start drawing near to God. We need to already be there! We need to have already established a relationship in which we know who He is, recognize His voice, and have confidence in His ability to see us though whatever may be the end.
John 6: 28-29 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
John 6:40 And this is the will of Him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
What did Jesus say was the Work and Will of God? “BELIEVE”; not wearing certain clothing, nor eating certain foods, not keeping Sabbath, not Bible Study. Believe. Although the list above might be good, and certainly it is, the key to doing the Will of God is establishing a relationship based on belief. All these other things will fall into place if you practice and live your belief.
So as we face uncertain times, it is important that we have a self check about the quality of our relationship with God and whether or not we really believe, or are we simply mouthing words we don’t really understand or believe.
