What is a Christian to do?

With all the internet, Cable or Satellite TV out there spouting religious propaganda in the form of sermons, what exactly is the believer to do?

You can form lists of do’s and don’t’s. These lists can get pretty big quickly! Daily I read on the social media messages from those who tell me that if I don’t ________ I am in danger of Hell. Others tell me that God is Love and absolutely nothing bad will come from God, so all my problems have to be rooted in Sin.

Go to Church. Eat this. Wear this. And be especially careful not to use a name for Jesus or God that is (according to them) a pagan name and might cause you to go to Hell.

Well, the other day in on of the sermons from the Gospel of John Series, I suddenly found the answer to the question, “What is the Will of God”. I found out what is the work of God that I should be doing. It is in plain language and stated in a sentence in the Scriptures. Why have I never seen it before?

John 6:28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent

John 6:40 For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.

So I guess what I (we) really need to do, is to determine if I (we) really believe. Are we just surface believing, or do we really believe with our whole heart?

How does our life reflect the level of our belief?
