I have just re-read “God’s Smuggler” again for the 8th or 9th time. Every time I read it I get chills up my spine as I read the 6th chapter, “The Game of the Royal Way”. It is the real story of the life of Brother Andrew who spent years smuggling Bibles into the Closed borders of the Communist Europe.
There is a sentence in this chapter where he is facing financial needs and learning to trust God to meet them without any manipulation on his part.
““Have Faith In God.” That was it! It wasn’t that I needed the security of a certain amount of money, it was that I needed the security of a relationship.
I have come to the conclusion that what we (I) really need ; to really develop a relationship with God. I need to stop playing Christian or Church Games, and simply get closer to God.
How do you do that? I don’t know. But the last two Sabbath Sermons at Remembrance were about prayer. That’s a good place to start.
Of course reading the Bible helps too. Not just reading, but studying and meditating on what God’s word says.
I am asking myself; “Do you really love God?” “How does your daily life prove it?” Does God get seconds in your life?
If God is omnipresent, then He is going with us all day. Do we act like it? Do we even acknowledge it?
Lots to think about!
